Roberto Bartolino

Obtained his Degree in Physics from the University of Rome in 1972 and his PhD in Physics in 1982 from the Université Paris-XI Orsay.

Since 1983, he has been a member of the Physics Department at the University of Calabria and, since 1991, has been Full Professor.

In addition, he has held Professorships at the University of Catanzaro, The University of Paris XI, The University of Paris VI, and Collège de France and was recipient of the Laurea Honoris Causa from the University of Bucarest, Romania in 2003.

Roberto has also served as the Director of the Physics Department as well as Dean of the Faculty of Sciences at UNICAL and has been the Director of the Doctoral School on Sciences since 2005.

He is an active member of the National Direction of the INFM (National Institute for the Physics of Matter) and has been the primary coordinator of several Brite and Esprit projects and networks and, since 2000, has been the Director of the Regional Laboratory Licryl of INFM. He represents CNR (The Italian National Research Council) as a member of the CDAs of the CNISM (National Consortium on Matter Physics) and of Calpark, The Scientific and Technological Park of Calabria and is Tutor for two INFM spin-off companies in Calabria.

In addition to serving as external expert on several CEE selection panels for the PECO, Inco-Copernicus Projects and BRITE Euram projects, he is also referee for MURST for Italian Projects and for the ANR of the French Ministry.

He is referee for several scientific journals of soft matter physics and of general physics and has co-authored 125 articles which, according to the ISI system have high-average impact factors and personally holds, according to the ISI system, an H factor of 23. He holds 12 international patents.
